Fans of the Allman Brothers Band were up in arms. They were seriously angry. It’s August ’75 and the sixth album by the Allman Brothers Band, Win Lose Or Draw, had just been released. Only two years before, their triumphant and nearly perfect Brothers And Sisters
Well-written and thoughtful analysis but I’ve never understood the lack of enthusiasm for this album. No, it’s not Brothers and Sisters but that’s a pretty tough LP to follow or top. I love the title track, even though Gregg sounds like he has a cold. A haunting song matched by haunting lyrics. WLD is a better album than Enlightened Rogues, imo, and certainly better than Reach for the Sky and Brothers of the Road.
