What a great piece, Jeff, and so interesting to read your insights about the performers. Many of us in the mid 60s were betting on which band would be the one to survive- The Beatles or Rollingstones? Obviously both did in very different ways. Our love for The Beatles will never die and The Stones have endured through their electrifying performances. That Mick Jagger decided to "become" James Brown is the heart of their success. My millenial daughter, Jennifer, proclaimed it was by far the best concert she had ever attended. And don't we wish we could go back in time to those early days in Augusta when James Brown was heating up the clubs with his raw energy and raucous live performances? Looking forward to getting the T.A.M.I. Blu-Ray disc and watching it when we return to Clarkesville!
